CBC
Cashing in on past successes Blackfly and History Bites CBC is "thrilled and delighted to present our ground-breaking series: History Sure Is Funny. This half hour series features all four Canadian actors in knock down, roll on the floor, beat yourself about the head, hysterical, historical sketches."
Asked how this show differs from the four other historical comedies the CBC replied "It is completely different. For instance, it airs at a different time and the closing credits will be done in a Bodoni font."
Comedy Network
Canada's premiere source of comedy for boys 9-14 is proud to present Four Guys Scratch Themselves.
Trevor, Buttfink, Sneeze and Zoe are couch potatoes in this zany half hour of ribald hilarity. With witty asides from their robot friend Scrote, this whacky quartet watch TV, drink, swear, talk about which girls they would "do" for a hundred bucks and yes, scratch themselves.
FGST has also spawned a preshow: Two Guys Watch Four Guys Scratch Themselves with hosts Sean Tweedly and Lloyd Roberstson .
Global TV
CanWest committed to spend $83.4 million on original Canadian programming and thus far has invested over spent over $250,000 dollars producing Survivor Canadian Style.
Based on the successful CBS series Survivor Global's offering was meant to cash in on enormously popular Survivor brand but industry insiders rumour the show may not make it to air. An anonymous crew member reported: "It was a disaster. All but two of the contestants left before the first competition and the two remaining contestants were dull and stupid. The footage was mind numbingly boring. It was completely soul destroying. We are editing our brains out but there is nothing there, nothing."
If problems are not rectifed by the September 7th air date, Global will run Supermarket Checkout the gameshow where contestants perform death-defying feats for $25 worth of groceries in the Survivor timeslot.
