Jenna's Diary appears every Friday
February
15th
I
just can't believe it. I'm so happy!
I
was sitting watching TV wearing my sweat pants that have just
enough gusset to keep the legs from falling off and my "I'm
with stupid" T-shirt when the buzzer went. I had the
evening planned. I was going to drink myself stupid, eat myself
into a coma leaving room for bouts of crying.
The
buzzer went and I thought it was the pizza guy. I grabbed
my wallet, looked through the peephole and it was Jeff! He
had a huge bouquet of roses, a heart-shaped box of chocolates
and a bottle of champagne. I could not believe it.
He
swept in, gave me a huge hug a passionate kiss and said "Jenna
I'm so sorry about last night."
My
heart felt like it was going to stop.
I
told him I hadn't slept the night before because I was so
upset. Valentine's Day, music, cutlery - well of course I
jumped to conclusions. I imagined all sorts of horrible things.
He apologized for being so curt with me on the phone, but
he said the client he was entertaining was a crotchety old
geezer who thought cell phones were the work of the devil.
I
was soooooo relieved. I don't know what gets into me sometimes?
Why am I always jumping to conclusions? How can we expect
to flourish as a couple if I keep doubting him?
Perhaps
the fact that he is married makes it a little harder to trust
him, but I've really got to work on things too.
We
had a wonderful evening. We ate pizza drank some wine, talked
and--- this I can't believe - Jeff is staying over for the
whole weekend!! Whoo hoo! First time ever! It will be like
we're living together! He told his wife that he had to go
to Halifax so for the first time I have him all to myself!
I
am so happy! He just went into the shower - my shower! My
shampoo! My towels!

He
got up all puffy eyed, he looked just like a Panda. What a
wonderful night! I spent most of it just watching him sleep.
He snores! I think it is soooooo cute. He sounds like a generator
and sometime he does the cartoon thing where his cheeks fill
up with air and the sound is something like snnnnrrrrkkkk
brwaaaaak whooo. It was soooo sweet.
I
got up early to put on make-up, style my hair and make breakfast
but there wasn't much I could do with what I had in the fridge.
I searched my recipe books to see what you could do with a
slice of cold pizza, half a lemon and jar of capers but didn't
have much luck. Jeff woke up just as I was about to go to
the store and said he wasn't much of a breakfast person. Whew!
When
I went into my bedroom to get dressed, I noticed that not
only had he made the bed, he'd straightened out the mess on
my dresser and rearranged my sock drawer. Talk about sweet!
In
the afternoon we took a drive down to the waterfront and spent
some time in the Antique market. We had so much fun picking
out things. We have almost the same taste - except he knows
what his taste is called and I don't. Then we went to The
St. Lawrence Market to get some groceries. Seeing him with
a shopping bag in his hand made me feel so much like part
of couple. I've slept with Jeff, I've spent the day with him
but I've never done any of the important couple stuff like
watch TV and pick out cabbages, so seeing him with a bag of
groceries (OUR groceries) was the most wonderful thing.
At
one point he said "do you want to have dinner out or
at home?" HOME! He called my place home!
I'm
so happy I could burst. As soon as tax season is over, he'll
leave his wife and every day will be like this. I feel like
someone should punch me to see if I'm dreaming.

We
spent a very lazy Sunday. We lounged around in our bathrobes
(he looked so cute in my terry-cloth! it was way too small
for him) read the papers and watched TV. It was so sweet to
watch him zoom through the channels with the remote control.
My
mother phoned about two and I told her that I couldn't talk
because Jeff and I were going out for lunch. There was a big
pause and she said in a really weird way. "Oh, I see."
(HE IS REAL FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE I DON'T MAKE UP BOYFRIENDS ANYMORE)
I motioned for him to get on the phone but he begged off.
We
went out to eat and then went to the Zoo! I haven't been to
the zoo since I was seven but the animals haven't changed
at all. The monkey's are still hilarious and the Yaks are
still boring. It was fantastic. We came home (HOME!) and just
"puttered" (such a cute word! Jeff uses it) around.
I really wanted a nap but Jeff says he likes to stay busy
so he worked on stuff around the apartment while I tried to
look like I was doing something too.
I've
never been so blissfully happy. I love everything about him.
I love the way he looks first thing in the morning, I love
his snoring. I love the way he has to have everything just
so. I love that he reorganized my medicine cabinet and linen
closet so they would operate more efficiently. I love that
my shampoos are alphabetized, I love that my fridge doesn't
smell like feet anymore. I love everything.
I
am so in love!
New to Jenna's Diary?
You are probably thinking"Say, I'll never catch up, so there's no point starting now."
Well that's not true, Jenna can't follow a thought for more than a second so you won't be missing a thing. (And quite frankly that attitude is the reason you are not a neurosurgeon.)
