What youngster wouldn't appreciate a toothsome treat from a house that featured this long-chinned lovely?

Pumpkin Carving Tools

  • large spoon
  • sharp knife
  • nail
  • paring knife
  • Carving Your Pumpkin

1. Print out the stencil. If you have a very large pumpkin you might want to enlarge the drawing. If you have a very tiny pumpkin you might want to reduce the size of the drawing. If you don't have a pumpkin you don't need a pumpkin stencil, you need a pumpkin.

2. Tape the stencil to your pumpkin (sticky side down)

3. Using the nail (sharp side down) punch holes through the paper, into the pumpkin, following the lines of the stencil. Be careful not to put your finger directly behind the holes and do not use a hammer.

4. Use the sharp knife to cut a circle at the top of the pumpkin. (Circle stencil below)

5. Scoop out the insides, you might want to sing one of Celine's hit songs at this point. Recommended: "I Drove All Night." (Hint: changing the word "drove" to "dug" is a hilarious thing to do.)

6. Scrape the insides with the large spoon (Hint: the spoon should be large enough to make light work but small enough to fit inside the top of the pumpkin. If you have to bash the spoon repeatedly against the opening the spoon might be too big.)

7. Use the paring knife to cut along the dotted lines you have made with the nail. You should cut them in order.

8. Cut a hole to be used as a vent in the top of the pumpkin, shove a candle inside Celine's head and Voila!
